Spring/ Summer Vegetables available soon
Growing your own vegetables can be very satisfying. Seeds can be sown early in the greenhouse ready for planting outside when the weather gets better.
We grow 100% of our vegetables and tomatoes for transplanting. Vegetables are available from April to July.
Tomatoes are available from Mid-April
Put down a general feed before planting into the ground. Keep plants free from weeds and look out for pests and disease.
Tomatoes
At the garden Centre we grow 8 varieties of tomato. Tomatoes should be grown in a greenhouse. Heat will be needed if frost is forecast. Use a good compost or a tomato grow bag. Remember to start to feed when the first fruits appear. Watering regularly is essential to allow the tomato to grow. As the plant grows use a cane to support the tomato.
Herbs
We have a large selection of herbs grown locally in Northern Ireland. Some herbs can be invasive and should be grown in pots. Water and feed regularly.
Onion Sets & Shallotts.
Available in the Centre from January, these can be planted in pots in the glasshouse. Plant out in open ground March - April. Harvest Late summer.
